Finishing 2ndΒ in the AFL allowed the Bucs to enjoy a quarter-final bye while the Stars battled the Lloydminster Vandals, Saturday, July 27th. The Stars won 26-6 against the Vandals.
In regular season play, the Bucs and the Stars pounded away at one another for four quarters, but the Bucs emerged victorious with a convincing 45-14 win, July 13th.
With a semi-finals victory against the Stars, the Bucs will progress to the AFL championship for the first time in the teamβs history. If the opposing team in the final is the Calgary Gators, the Bucs will travel south to play in Calgary. Any other opposing team will give the Bucs home field advantage, allowing the championship to be played at Lacombeβs MeGlobal Athletic Park, August 17th.
