Thursday, October 17, 2013. Charlottetown, PE – The Holland Hurricanes Football Club heads to Halifax Saturday to face the Dalhousie University Tigers in the final game of the regular season for both clubs. Going into this weekendβs play, the Tigers and the UNB Saint John Seawolves both have 4-1 records, and the Hurricanes and the UNB Red Bombers have identical 1-4 records.
This weekendβs game will determine the final standings and solidify the playoff picture. Should the βCanes beat the Tigers and the Seawolves beat the Red Bombers, the Hurricanes would move up into third place. All possible scenarios have the βCanes on the road for the semi-final playoff game next weekend.
In their previous meeting this season the Tigers handed the Hurricanes a home loss, the first time Dalhousie had defeated Holland College since the 2010 by a score of 56-40; but in a league that has achieved parity among its four clubs, both AFL contests this weekend are considered to be up for grabs.
βWeβre looking to end the season on a winning note and head into the playoffs with some momentum. Weβve been close in every game this year, and we expect this game to be another exciting match-up,β said offensive coordinator Andrew Hickey.
