Duvernay-Tardif jets off to West Coast this weekend for official visit with 49ers.
This weekend, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is spending time in Santa Clara, California.
The 6β5, 315 pound offensive tackle is visiting the NFLβs San Francisco 49ers.Β This comes on the heels of Durvernay-Tardif being ranked at the top of the CFL Scouting Bureau Spring Rankings for the third consecutive time this past Tuesday.
Not only are the 49ers in pursuit, three additional NFL teams appear to be interested in Duvernay-Tardif -Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears.
Late last month, the St. Hilaire, Quebec native hosted a Pro Day in Montreal. Β Overall, nine NFL teams came out to the event including the 49ers, bears and Eagles. Other teams that were in attendance were the Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders.Β Four CFL teams also took part in the Pro Day – Calgary Stampeders, Montreal Alouettes, Toronto Argonauts and the Ottawa RedBlacks.
The NFL Draft will be held on May 8th-10th, 2014in New York.Β Soon after, the CFL Draft takes place on May 13th, 2014.
The Quebec offensive tackle just completed his fourth CIS season with the McGill Redmen.Β This past season, Duvernay-Tardif won the JP Metras Trophy as the CISβ Most Outstanding Lineman and was named a CIS Top 8 Academic All-Canadian.Β He is a two time CIS All-Canadian and was selected to play in the CIS East-West Bowl last year.
This past January, Duvernay-Tardif was one of two players from the CIS that was selected to play in the 89th East-West Shrine Game.
Previous to the Redman, the offensive tackle completed a stint with CEGEP Division 2 team, Andre-Grasset Phenix.
