Kevin has shown his wide-range of athletics through baseball and soccer, but really showed his true talent when he picked up the pig-skin. In four seasons with the Mission Secondary Roadrunners, Wiens has turned some heads in the BC Football Conference.
In last week’s Conference championship game, Kevin helped propel his team to a 30-7 victory over the Robert Bateman Timberwolves. Wiens threw for a total of 155 yards, and also scrambled for two touchdowns of his own. Head coach Kevin Watrin said Wien’s contribution was vital to the victory. Wiens was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player of the year.
The highlight of Kevin’s young career came in 2011, when he led the Mission Secondary Roadrunners to their second straight provincial title.
“My most memorable moment would be winning the provincial championship last year over John Barsby,” said Wiens. “It was such an intense game going back and forth, I still get goose bumps thinking about it”.
Since 2010, Kevin has amassed many accolades, including:
2010 JV AA Provincial Championships
2010 Provincial Final Game MVP
2011 Varsity AA Provincial Champions
2011 Provincial Final Game MVP
2011 Conference All Star and the aforementioned;
2012 Offensive Conference MVP
While Wiens has not committed to any University as of yet, he is sure to garner some attention from some of British Columbia’s top football teams. It may not be long before this young athlete makes a name for him self in Western Canada.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
