The Nelson Lords (Halton champ) scored early and often as they cruised to a 43 to 20 victory over Cardinal Newman (Hamilton Catholic champ). Will Finch threw 5 touchdown passes, had 337 yards passing and 41 yards rushing in the victory.
Nelson will meet Peel runner-up Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Friday November 25 at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke with a 10:00 a.m. kick off in the second Golden Horseshoe Bowl semi final. The first Golden Horseshoe Bowl semi final will be played on Thursday November 24th between St. Paul’s (Niagara Falls) the SOSSA Champ and Peel Champ Notre Dame – Brampton also at 10:00 a.m. at Centennial. Winners meet for the Golden Horseshoe Bowl Final at Rogers Centre on Tuesday November 29th at 11:15 a.m.
