RECAP: CFC 100 Archambault powers CFC#27 Blues to victory

CFC 100 Philippe Archambault turned in a stellar performance on defense and scored a touchdown as CFC#27 Upper Canada College Blues eked out a 24-20 victory over archrivals CFC#36 St. Andrew’s College Saints.
Aidan Power and LC Hebert also tallied majors for the Blues. Ā Henry Gould also had a standout performance on defense. Ā The turning point of the game was Clayton Jeffrey’s catch in the fourth quarter.
The following is a Homecoming recap release from St. Andrew’s College Saints:
Jonathan Femi-Cole 3
CFC#36 St. Andrew’s College Saints suffered a difficult 24-20 defeat to the CFC# 27 UCC Blues this afternoon at the Yuill Family Athletic Complex. Several outstanding individual performances on both sides of the ball, including exceptional afternoons for CFC 100 running back Jonathan Femi-Cole, quarterback Ben Schmidt, slotbacks Austin Hassani and Ryan Keays, as well as linebackers Fraser Sopik, Nick Grossi, Ā and Walter Karabin were highlights for the Saints. Ultimately the combination of the Blues’ dynamic playmakers on offence executing in crucial moments, as well as several uncharacteristic penalties and mistakes by the Saints, proved to be too much to overcome.
Things will not get any easier next week with a road match-up at St. Michael’s College for the Kerry Blues homecoming. The Saints ability to overcome adversity and re-focus will certainly be challenged this week.
A significant thank you for the overwhelming support that we received from the entire Andrean community this afternoon. We wanted nothing more than to win for all of you, and even though we fell short today, our players cherished every moment playing in front of such a large and passionate crowd of proud fans.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
