The 2012 BC Senior Bowl game took place Saturday, March 24th at McLeod Athletic Park in Langley. The roster includes invites of the best amateur high school football players currently in Grade 12 to showoff their skills. The 10:00 am kickoff went on to an exiting game between the West and East division that had parents and speculators cheering.
The West team took a 14 to 7 victory at the end of a week-long camp for all invites hosted by the BC Lions at their training facility in Surrey from Tuesday, March 20th to Friday, March 23ed.
The main point is to bring together the best players, including AAA or AA provincial All Star players, on one field as Dino Geremia Head Coach for Senior Bowl and Technical Director with Football BC says, βIt is a true honour for them to be represented here for the week and over the years many players have gone to stardom from University to the CFL.β The players who we have seen today could join the ranks of BC Lions players – Justin Sorensen and Angus Reid who have participated in past Senior Bowls. According to Geremia the standouts to look-out for this year as they respectably highlight their teams are Ante Litre -LB- from the West team and Christine Hopper – LB – from the East team. Overall Geremia says, βIt is just a great football event for a young player graduating from high school.β
At the end of the game an awards ceremony presented:
The Best Defensive player of the week to Kristian Abian -LB- from the west team and Hayden Jeffery -DB- from the East team.
The Best Offensive Player of the week went to Cole Meyer -QB- from the west team and Dallas Yassinsky -Rec- from the east team.
