seniorbowlpracpic

The 2014 edition of the BC Senior Bowl is now upon us and CanadaFootballChat.com brings you a special preview of the exciting five-day event. March 18 to 21 will see players taking part in twice-daily practices at the BC Lions Training Facility in Surrey, along with workshops, meetings, and lectures. This year’s game will take place on Saturday, March 22 at McLeod Athletic Park in Langley.

Attendance at the annual camp hosted at the BC Lions Training Facility in Surrey is by invitation only. Invitations are extended automatically to graduating grade twelve players who were named a 2013 BC High School Football Provincial All-Star, named to the 2014 Star Bowl team, or a member of the 2014 under-18 Team BC. Other invitees are players selected from among the hundreds of hopefuls who attended one of the five provincial evaluations held at locations throughout British Columbia. One hundred players will make up the final Senior Bowl roster.

Some of the invited players have spoken to CFC and all express their deep excitement for the camp and game, as well as gratitude for the opportunity Football BC is providing for them.

Manvir Khun-Khun of the Vancouver College Fighting Irish echoes the sentiments of many players when he says he is extremely excited for an opportunity to play a final game as a high school football player, along with the chance to impress university recruiters.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase my talents to university coaches and scouts watching,” Manvir says. “As I haven’t been shown as much interest as I imagined I would, this is one of my final chances to do so.”

James Harney of the Notre Dame Jugglers praises the work that Dino Geremia and others at Football BC have done for the Senior Bowl, while looking forward to the camaraderie and good memories the camp and game will offer players.

“It is an awesome way to end high school football,” James says. “Spending one last time out on that turf field training with teammates, former teammates and former opponents will be a great experience we won’t forget.”

“Regardless if we continue with football or not, the many lessons we have learned from being part of the great game of football will help us as we move forward in life.”

Ty Marshall of the Windsor Dukes is short and sweet in his comments but speaks for many of his fellow players, adding, “I don’t really have a lot to say about it, but I am excited to get the pads back on!”
