2014 CJFL Major Award Winners

 

The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) is proud to announce their Major Award winners for the 2014 season.Β  The awards were handed out Friday night at the Jostens Banquet of Champions in Langley, BC.

The award winners are:

Peter Dalla Riva Outstanding Offensive Player
Wayndel Lewis – Saskatoon Hilltops – 130 carries, 1,063 yards, 9 touchdowns.

Larry Wruck Outstanding Defensive Player
Jakub Jakoubek – Calgary Colts – 45 tackles, 16 assists, 4 knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.

Gord Currie Coach of the Year
Shane Beatty – Okanagan Sun – for the first time since 2010 the Sun finished 9-1, winning home field advantage throughout the BC playoffs. In just his second season, Beatty led the Sun to their first ever playoff win over the VI Raiders and set a new club record for most total yards in a season with 4,459.Β  The Sun also won their 260th game in their history and set a BCFC record for the most winning seasons with 32 under Beatty’s watch.

Rookie of the Year
Ethan Schulz – Langley Rams – 23 tackles, 14 assists, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 4 fumble recoveries, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

CJFL Past Commissioners Award
Keaton Hoddinoff – Edmonton Wildcats

CJFL Stewart MacDonald Executive of the Year
Elise Pastro – Westshore Rebels

CJFL Life Member
