CFC40 Class of 2024 OL Theo Benedet out of Handsworth SS in North Vancouver, BC may not have gotten to hear his name called during the 2024 NFL Draft, he didn’t have much time to feel bad before his phone started ringing. Before the broadcast feed even ended, the Chicago Bears were reaching out to get Benedet under contract.
Since taking up football, the 6’7″, 305lb Benedet has been a rock solid protector. After three stellar years at Handsworth, the mountain of a man committed to play at the U Sports level for the UBC Thunderbirds. Benedet went on to become the most decorated offensive lineman in Canadian collegiate history, starting every game between 2019 and 223 and winning the J. P. Metras award given to the best U Sports lineman twice.
Benedet was ranked fourth overall in the CFC40 Class of 2024. The Chicago Bears have been overhauling their offensive line over the last few seasons, and time will tell where Benedet fits in.
