  • We’ve got a new name at the top of the leaderboard with Dalbe-Viau taking over pole position on the rankings coming off another dominant 37-7 victory over Triolet. They leap frog over Holy Trinity Academy, who struggled this past week playing CFC50 8th ranked Raymond losing 50-14. Despite the optics, this move isn’t really about the Knights losing to the Comets, but because we’ve had a chance to assess all 7 games played between the two programs, and believe that Dalbe-Viau have proven they deserve the number one ranking for now. We believe it’s important to state the reasoning in this scenario because we do not want to discourage teams like Holy Trinity Academy, Bishop J. Mahoney or Medicine Hat from scheduling tougher opponents that test their players even if it means they’re likely to lose. On the contrary, we love when we see programs step outside their comfort zones to challenge their programs and believe it plays a very important role in the Canadian football ecosystem.

  • Elsewhere in Quebec, Estacades remain undefeated right on the tail of Dalbe-Viau after earning a 31-21 victory over College de Levis. We also have the mighty Dragons from St-Jean-Vianney making their first appearance on the list after a 2-1 start to the campaign. They find themselves in a major logjam in the middle of the standing alongside Saint-Joseph, College de Levis and Deux-Montagnes. It’ll be fun to watch the top six programs untangle themselves as the season rolls on.
  • Vernon earn our Team of the Week honours after going toe-to-toe with a tough AAA Rutland squad and finding a way to come out on top 20-14. Windsor are also officially on the board with a 28-0 win over West Vancouver in their season opener. Now it’s time for the real fun to begin with the regular season kicking off across British Columbia this week.
  • Alberta continues to provide headaches for the rankings with so many great programs in contention, but the problem is that there hasn’t been many games played between them to sort things out between the white lines instead of on paper. Thankfully with the Alberta system you can’t hide forever, and eventually we’ll get the clashes we are looking for to truly settle the debates. We will get some clarity next week with a pair of fantastic contests between Medicine Hat and Catholic Central, and St. Joseph’s taking on Holy Rosary.
  • Churchill continue to impress in Manitoba with another blowout victory over Beaver Brae to improve their record to 2-0. Fort Frances are right there with them at the top of the standings after a clutch 17-6 win over a good Dryden team. The third undefeated program to watch in the AAA division is St. Norbert, who can earn themselves a spot on the rankings if they take care of business against John Taylor.

CFC100 CLASS 2026 RANKINGS

  • There’s no rest for the wicked in the Saskatchewan Rural League, and Greenall knows that better than anybody after holding on for dear life for a 14-13 victory over Weyburn. We’re now intrigued to see what happens this week when Central lineup against Yorkton with first place on the line.
  • Lastly we’ve got Confederation out of Sudbury joining the list coming off a convincing 49-0 win against St. Charles in their season opener. May be a controversial decision at this point with Lo-Ellen left on the outside looking in, but it’s very possible both programs end up on the rankings by the time November rolls around. We can’t wait to watch them go to battle in Northern Ontario.
