2nd Annual Harding Cup; proceeds to Sunshine Dreams for kids

The Burlington Braves will host the 2010 Harding Cup game at Nelson Stadium this Saturday at 7:00 pm. And of course the opposition will be the London Beefeaters.
The game honours former Beefs and Braves trainer Dave Harding who passed away in 2009.
Dave was most recently the Vice President of the Ontario Football Conference.

Proceeds from the game will be donated to the Sunshine Dreams for Kids.
The Sunshine Foundation [URL]http://www.sunshine.ca makes Dreams come true for children, living in Canada, who are challenged by severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.

THE SUNSHINE FOUNDATION

The Sunshine Foundation was established in 1987 by a London, Ontario police officer as a legacy to his son who passed away of muscular dystrophy. He wanted children like his son to be able to live their Dream. Sunshine is the only Canadian charity making Dreams for Kids with severe disabilities as well as life-threatening illnesses come true. In fact, 80% of Sunshine kids are challenged by a severe physical disability.
Over the past two decades, Sunshine has been growing a solid network of volunteers, donors, sponsors and other partners as well as developing relationships with the professionals who work with the children we serve. We believe that community spirit and volunteerism are critical components to a successful charity. As a result, Sunshine has only one office, in London, Ontario and all Sunshine Chapters are run by volunteers in their homes or in donated
space. This keeps overhead costs low and volunteers at the centre of Sunshine.
The success of our combined efforts can be clearly seen: we have been steadily increasing the number of Dreams we fulfill, reaching more than 6,500 children across Canada. However, the Sunshine story is just beginning. Currently, there are more than 150 children hoping to receive their Dream, and more than 50,000 children in this country who are eligible to receive Dreams.

Unlike 2009 when the game was an exhibition, the 2010 edition will be a regular season game.
The Braves are 2-1 and the Beefeaters sit at 0-2.
The other two match ups this weekend will see the 0-2 Brampton Bears in Hamilton against the 1-1 Hurricanes and the Windsor AKO Fratmen will take on the Cougars in St Leonard. Both are 1-1.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
