53 Canadians released by CFL teams on final ‘cut down’ day of training camp

Big day in the CFL as many players looking for a job were released. Some of these players will end up on Practice Rosters, some will end up going home, and some will end up playing for Team Canada at the World Championships. Matt Walter, who before camp confirmed he had to return to the Calgary Dinos to complete his degree, has confirmed that he will represent Canada at this year’s world championship in Austria. Another former CFLer, Anthony Maggiacomo has been invited to training camp, arriving today after he coaches his Cambridge Lions (OVFL) in Sault Ste. Marie tonight.
