Carabins bring in local recruit to their team.

CFC100 Hugo Hurtubise, a defensive back from the MontrΓ©al Royals (QuΓ©bec Junior Football League), is on a mission when he joins the MontrΓ©al Carabins.
Hurtubise is coming into the MontrΓ©al locker room with one goal on his mind. βIn the six years playing football, Iβve never won a championship. Iβll do whatever I need to do to bring back the Vanier Cup at lβUniversitΓ© de MontrΓ©al,β he said.

The 5β11, 210lbs athlete considers the Carabins to be one of the best teams in the country. βBeing there for the next three years will absolutely upgrade my game physically and mentally,β he said. While he doesnβt know the coaches on a personal level, he said he knows he is in good hands with Head Coach Danny Maciocia and all the coaches after what they have done with the team in the past six years.
βNow, to be successful, we just need to follow their footsteps and work hard every single day,β the product of Lachine, MontrΓ©al, said.
Going into his seventh year of football, Hurtubise has found another passion alongside his sport of choice. βWhen I was 17 years old, I was introduced to educational books, such as personal growth, and I’ve been amazed to see how the human brain works and learn how to be a better human being. This is why I am going in psychology at university,β he said.
At the start of his journey, his career began with the high school team, Les Dragons du CollΓ¨ge Sainte-Anne (RSEQ). He played for two different cΓ©gep teams, Les Lynx du CΓ©gep Γdouard-Montpetit (RSEQ Division 2) in 2012 and Les Indiens du CollΓ¨ge Ahuntsic (RSEQ Division 3) in 2015 after a two-year break from school and football.
Hurtubise will have the chance to stay close to his family, friends and girlfriend, which he said was a great advantage of committing to the Carabins. βI would like to thank the Carabins for this opportunity,β he said. βIβm ready to go 100% with them and work hard.β
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
