University of Saskatchewan Huskie football head coach Scott Flory announced his second recruiting class Thursday at the Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites Dogs’ Breakfast.
Flory unveiled 39 new faces that will don the green and white beginning in 2018.
“Everyone around the football program is excited for the 2018 season, players, coaches, staff and fans,” said head coach Scott Flory. “I am really excited to see this outstanding group of big, fast and athletic recruits compete this weekend. They will make us better and it’s going to be exciting to watch their growth.”
The new recruits and the rest of the Huskie football squad hits the field in spring camp tonight at 6 p.m. at Griffiths Stadium in Nutrien Park. The annual green and white scrimmage is slated for 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Huskies continue to add plenty of homegrown talent withΒ 22 of their 39Β recruits playing their high school football inΒ SaskatchewanΒ andΒ 12Β inΒ Saskatoon.
FiveΒ of the recruits wore provincial colours at theΒ 2017 Football Canada Cup.
EightΒ recruits played in the Canadian Junior Football League with four from the four-peat Canadian Bowl championΒ Saskatoon Hilltops,Β threeΒ from theΒ Calgary ColtsΒ andΒ oneΒ from theΒ Regina Thunder.
The Huskies addedΒ 11Β recruits fromΒ AlbertaΒ βΒ 10Β fromΒ Calgary.Β FourΒ the of Calgary recruits hail from theΒ St. Francis BrownsΒ β the provincial high school finalists.
SixΒ more recruits are fromΒ out of provinceΒ βΒ threeΒ fromΒ Manitoba,Β twoΒ fromΒ British ColumbiaΒ andΒ oneΒ fromΒ Ontario.
TwoΒ of the recruits have kept it in the family βΒ Avery DunsterΒ joins his cousin Sam Baker, whileΒ Joey TrumpyΒ follows in the footsteps of older brother, John, to play with the Huskies.
