CHAMPLAIN COUGARS (CEGEP Div. 1)
COACHING EXPERIENCE: Head coach of the Champlain Cougars since 2006 (CEGEP Div. 1 League). The Cougars participated in four Bowl d’Or finals (’06, ’08, ’09, ’12) over the past seven seasons. In 2013 the Cougars won the Bowl d’or and in 2012 they were 9-1 and had the best offense with 370 points scored. JF was also part of the Team Quebec coaching staff that won the Canada Cup in the U17 category in ’07 & ’08 and in the U18 category in ’12. Some of the most notable players JF helped developed over his time at Champlain included:
- OL Philip Blake (Baylor), Denver Broncos, NFL
- DL Marc-Antoine Fortin (Laval), Tiger-Cats, CFL
- LB Frédéric Plesius (Laval & Baylor) 2012 President trophy award winner
- OL Dillon Guy (Buffalo), NCAA
- WR Joël Zoungrana (Boston College), NCAA
PLAYING EXPERIENCE: Played Center at Laval University from ‘99 to ’03. Won two Vanier Cups (’99 & ’03), was team captain in ’03 and was honored with All-Conference awards in ’01,’02,’03 and All-Canadian award in ’03. In ’04 JF signed as a free agent with the Hamilton Tiger Cats and was kept on Injured reserve all season long and then signed in ’05 with the Ottawa Renegades and was kept on practice roster for the season.
