Guelph, Ontario (Jan. 10, 2012): OFA is pleased to announce our positional coaches for Team Ontario Canada Cup taking place July 15th-21st in Moncton, New Brunswick.Β Joe DβAmore (Windsor) will coach receivers, Tom Flaxman (Toronto) will coach running backs, and Rob Underhill (McMaster) will coach defensive backs.Β Our first tryout date is almost here, January 12th at Players Paradise in Hamilton, ON. Joe DβAmore is currently the Head Coach of the Windsor Lancers.Β In 2011, DβAmore led the Lancers to their first playoff appearance since 2006 in his first year as Head Coach.Β That same year DβAmore was awarded the Tuffy Knight Award winner as the OUA Football Coach of the Year.Β DβAmore played and started all four years he played wide receiver at the University of Windsor in which he followed a professional career in the Arena Football League and German Football League.Β DβAmoreβs is a great addition to this yearβs staff.
Tom Flaxman is currently the Offensive Coordinator of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.Β Previously, Flaxman was the Offensive Coordinator for the Acadia Axemen that won the Atlantic title in 2011.Β In addition, Flaxman has been a coach with the OVFL Mississauga Warriors since 2004, winning 3 championships.Β Flaxman was a player for Team Ontario on the gold medal winning teams in 2002 & 2003.
Rob Underhill is currently a defensive backs coach for the McMaster Marauders.Β Underhill was the Head Coach of Team Ontario, leading the team to two bronze medals during his tenure.Β Underhill was the Head Coach & Defensive Coordinator for the OVFL Hamilton Ironmen, building them into a perennial top ranked team that was known for its tough defense.Β Underhill is a valuable component of this coaching staff with his wealth of experience and leadership at the Canada Cup.
