Waterdown receiver newest recruit for OUA team’s 2014 class
Support was a key selling point in an Ontario offensive standout’s decision to remain in his home province for the next chapter of his gridiron career.
Recently, Quincy Reid committed to the Guelph Gryphons for the 2014 season. The 5’10, 165 pound receiver from Waterdown, Ontario is thrilled to have the opportunity to develop and thrive with the Gryphons.
“The Gryphons have a strong football program with a supportive fan base,” explained Reid of his decision. “I also found that their coaches are very easy to talk to and I could tell that their main focus was to put their athletes in the best position to be successful not only as a football player, but as a student.”
“Also, they have an amazing facility. It’s also close to home, which gives my family and friends the opportunity to watch me, play.”
Reid joins the Gryphons after completing his high school career with Waterdown Warriors of the Hamilton Wentworth Intercollegiate Athletic Association (HWIAA). This past season, the Ontario receiver amassed around 600 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns as well as close to 500 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. Additionally, Reid suited up for the Hamilton Hurricanes of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).
