AFL: Hurricanes prepare for game against Seawolves

The Holland College Hurricanes go up against defending Atlantic Football League Champions the UNB Saint John Seawolves this Saturday at 3 p.m. at MacAdam Field.

The ‘Canes are currently leading the league with three wins and no losses, while the Seawolves have two wins against one loss. The last time the two teams met, in preseason action, the ‘Canes overwhelmed the Seawolves 62-0; but Hurricanes head coach Mark MacDougall is cautioning players against being over confident this time around.

“Last time we played the Seawolves, some of their key players weren’t there. This time, we expect that the game will be as hard fought as any other this season. The two teams have had some epic battles in the past, and we are preparing for more of the same on Saturday,” he said.

The Hurricanes home games have been well attended and the fans have not been disappointed with either the action on the field or off. Once again, chefs from The Culinary Institute of Canada will be on hand serving up some of the best tailgate food fans are likely to encounter. The Holland College Welshmen pep band and the cheerleaders will be there to add to the excitement. Admission is free for students and children, $5 for adults.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
