Connor has been playing football since the age of 8 for the Scarborough Thunder and has been an integral part of the team’s success. As the team’s quarterback he has earned himself a rookie of the year award, two Most Valuable Player awards while being invited to the ‘GTA Future Stars’ game. Connor was also named to the junior varsity (JV) all-star team and will be playing in the next game.
In addition to his personal accolades as a member of the Scarborough Thunder, Connor won a Central Ontario Minor Football League (COMFL) championship and is now playing for his high school team, Malvern Black Knights.
Heading into his grade 10 year, time is on Connor’s side as he decides where he wants to go to post-secondary school, and while he says his options are open at the moment, he did mention a couple in particular.
“I’m still considering a lot of schools,” he says. “But the main two would be Western because my older brother committed to play their next year and Calgary because they have a good program.”
Connor credits his brother, as well as his parents as the most influential people in his life. He also spoke about his junior varsity coach’s influence on his playing career.
“He’s the one who turned into a quarterback my first year playing.” Connor explains.
The move to quarterback has certainly worked out for the young slinger so far.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
