Alberta introduces six commits, including CFC10 Specialist and CFC100 lineman

The Alberta Golden Bears announced six commits for the 2020 campaign.

In what has been a busy recruiting season for the Golden Bears, new commits will look to bring their talent to a program that’s determined to win.

CFC10 Nate Kasowski (6’2, 185 lbs) — Punter/Kicker from Harry Ainlay (Edmonton, AB)

The Edmonton, AB., native, grew up watching Golden Bear games and his father, Stephen, still holds several kicking records with the University of Alberta. It was an easy decision when it came time to make a commitment.

“I had an old coach of mine tell me that it was was a blessing to have your hometown team believe in you, and that’s exactly what has happened to me.”

Nate made the first edition of the CFC10 Specialist Rankings for 2020 earlier in September.

Dan Rosin (6’3, 230 lbs) — Defensive Tackle and Offensive Lineman from Spruce Grove (Spruce Grove, AB)

Rosin ranks as one of the top CFC100 linemen in the nation and possesses a skillset to play on both sides of the football.

“On the field, I’m definitely one of the smaller guys in my position, but I believe I make up for it with my smash mouth aggression and believe that is what gives me a true edge on my competitors.”

Said Mostafa (6’2, 190 lbs) Linebacker from Lillian Osborne (Edmonton, AB)

The towering linebacker started on defence for Team Alberta at the Canada Cup this past summer. Mostafa is continuing the trend of Edmontonians committing with their home school.

Zach Froese (6’0, 210 lbs) Athlete from Sturgeon Composite High School (Sturgeon, AB)

Froese was the 2018 Metro Edmonton League MVP quarterback for Sturgeon. He will be joining the Golden Bears as a defensive player, as per head coach Chris Morris via Twitter.

Cole Priestly (6’2, 180 lbs) — Athlete from Cold Lake High School (Cold Lake, AB)

A native of Cold Lake, AB., Priestly is a well-rounded player that has experience playing slotback and free safety. He runs a 4.7-second 40-yard dash.

Lance Sparks (6’4, 280 lbs) — Defensive Lineman from St. Albert Catholic High School (St. Albert, AB)

The high school senior first caught the eye of CFC’s own Clint Uttley back in 2017 at the Alberta Bantam Bowl. His progression as a player has landed himself with the Golden Bears for 2020.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
