All-Canadian transfers to Huskies

Donovan Dale ,defensive lineman, who was a first-team all-Canadian in 2013 and a second-team selection in 2014, made the decision to switch schools after getting bypassed during this spring’s CFL draft.

Dale, who completed his kinesiology degree at UBC, has been accepted into a masters program at the U of S. Because he’s pursuing a masters, he won’t have to sit out a year.

At 6-foot-1 and 290 pounds, many CFL teams considered him to be undersized.

Dale made an immediate impact in his first season of CIS football in 2013. He led the Thunderbirds in quarterback sacks (5) and tackles for a loss (7.5) as well as chipping in with 37 tackles as the disruptive force in the middle of UBC’s front four.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
