Atlantic University Sport and EastLink TV announce 2011 football broadcast schedule


HALIFAX, N.S. – Atlantic University Sport and EastLink TV are pleased to announce the 2011 football broadcast schedule, which will once again see an AUS football game shown live each Saturday throughout the season, leading up to the Subway AUS Loney Bowl championship game scheduled for November 12th.

“Atlantic University Sport is proud to continue our outstanding partnership with EastLink TV this season,” said Phil Currie, Executive Director of Atlantic University Sport. “Thanks to EastLink TV’s continued commitment to showcasing local sports in the Maritimes, we have a great opportunity to feature one of our most marketable sports live each week to a large audience regionally and also expose our product around the world via webcasting.”
The 2011 season will see EastLink TV broadcast eight regular season games, two post-season contests and one pre-season exhibition game. Exhibition games return to the schedule for the first time since 2001 and both will take place on Saturday, September 3rd at 2pm.
In addition to the eleven televised games, EastLink TV will once again be producing two 30-minute pre-game shows. The first will be a season preview special that will air prior to the September 10th game at 1:30pm when the StFX X-Men will host the Acadia Axemen and the second will kick-off the 2011 Subway Loney Bowl coverage with another pre-game special reviewing the past season and looking at the upcoming Loney Bowl match-up.
The on-air team of Dan Robertson and John MacNeil will return to provide the play-by-play and colour commentary for the eighth consecutive season, with Cecil Wright once again manning the sidelines
The 2011 broadcast schedule will also include the Mount Allison Mounties homecoming game versus the Bishop’s Gaiters on September 17th and the Saint Mary’s homecoming game versus Acadia on October 1st.
