“We are extremely excited to announce our first wave of 2016 recruits. These young men are exactly the types of student athletes and people we want as members of our Acadia Axemen Football Family”, pointed out Cummins.

“Their on-field success is extremely impressive with MVP’s, Players of the Year and multiple All Star awards”, said Cummins. “They have made a decision to become one of Acadia’s first wave of recruits and have chosen a great place to win championships and get an incredible degree. “I chose Acadia because I was attracted to the campus, size of the school, and surrounding area. I was impressed with the science program and facilities they have. The campus has a welcoming feel to it and is well-integrated into the town. The football coaching staff have impressive backgrounds and a good track record of developing great defensive players. Probably the most influential factor in my decision to attend Acadia was my brother Brady. He has had nothing but positive things to say about the football team, the coaches, and his time at Acadia.”

“There are numerous reasons I committed to Acadia University. First, Acadia has a very prestigious business program being top 3 in Canada, which was the most important factor I took in when making my decision. Along with this, I received nothing but positive support from my family, friends, and coaches, including Carl Tolmie and Thomas Mellor about choosing Acadia. Also, the smaller campus was really something I was looking for which allows a more personal experience with my professors and also the other students at Acadia. Acadia also has a great family atmosphere. While at my visit, I was treated with a ton of respect that no other school could duplicate. From students saying hello when I was walking by, to hanging out with guys on the team like I had already played there, it was something special. Finally, Acadia is a winning football team. With Coach Cummings and his staff, they are fighting every year to be perfect and to make the playoffs, and they also care about each one of their players which is something I am really looking forward to.”

Note:

Chris Judd, Acadia’s Offensive Coordinator for the past five seasons will be leaving the Axemen to take on a new career opportunity. Judd was an AUS All-Star quarterback for the Axemen prior to his coaching career.

Head Coach Jeff Cummins spoke highly of Judd’s contribution to the program during his tenure as Coordinator. β€œChris dedicated almost a decade of his life to Acadia as a student –athlete and coach”, commented Cummins. Adding “He is one of my best friends and we will miss him immensely on the field and in the office. I am sure Chris will not be a stranger to Acadia football and hope he will be around valley football for many years to come.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
