Bantam Dolphins let one slip away to TNT

The Ajax Pickering Dolphins visited Mel Mitchell field to play the TNT Express in Bantam OMFL action on Sunday. The opening half showed great promise for both teams with some exceptional plays on all sides of the football.

On the opening drive the dolphins #10, Morgan Humes made a big catch and #3, Jackson Lyder had a very successful screen pass on 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 11. Unfortunately for the visitors a turnover deep in TNTs end nullified the drive. TNT capitalized on the turnover when #24 Bryan Deans scampered 63 yards for a touchdown.

Again on the second drive the dolphins had some success. Humes had another big catch and QB, #11, Jesse St John had some effective QB scrambles and naked boot runs. After a TNT facemask penalty, St. John ran the ball in the end zone on a QB sneak. The convert was no good and the score was 7 to 6 after the first quarter.

This seemed to focus the home team as they reeled off 41 unanswered points over the next 3 quarters of play. The dolphins began to succumb to the injury bug and their lack of depth began to show.
