BC Senior Bowl: Zeleniski & Bill lead Team Yamaoka to victory

LANGLEY, BC – Team Yamaoka scored majors on their first drive and their final drive of the opening half of play en route to a 22-7 victory over Team Beatty at the 2015 Senior Bowl game held at McLeod Stadium in Langley on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

Team Yamaoka, led by and named after Kamloops Broncos head coach Brad Yamaoka, jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after QB Mihai Lapuste (Handsworth Royals) connected with REC Cory McCoy (Rutland Voodoos) right out of the gate.

Team Yamaoka would double their lead with less than a minute left in the opening half with RB Brock Zeleniski (Mt. Boucherie Bears) scoring on a six-yard rush. Yamaoka would add a single point on a rouge to lead 15-0 at half-time.

Team Yamaoka would increase their lead to 22-0 in the third quarter with QB Rylan Matters (Duchess Park Condors) finding the end zone.

2015 Senior Bowl

Team Beatty, led by and named after Okanagan Sun head coach Shane Beatty, Β broke the shutout late in the fourth quarter on a score with QB Colby Peters (North Surrey Bears) connecting with REC Matt Oye (Meadow Ridge Knights) in the end zone.

Team Beatty had a chance to cut into Team Yamaoka’s lead in the opening half but had a promising drive snuffed out by an interception by DB Lucas Bill (Carson Graham Eagles).

Brock Zeleniski was named the Offensive MVP for Team Yamoaka while Lucas Bill earned the Defensive MVP honours.

RB Tyrel Ogloff (Meadow Ridge Knights) was named the Offensive MVP for Team Beatty while DL Jordon Seney (Terry Fox Ravens) took home the Defensive MVP award.
