BCFC: 2018 Schedule Released

April 24, 2018 – The British Columbia Football Conference has released its 2018 schedule that sees the 6 member teams play it’s traditional slate of 10 games.

The season kicks off August 4th with a single game that has the Langley Rams at home to the Westshore Rebels Saturday at 4PM. The remaining 4 teams hit the field on Sunday. First, the Valley Huskers host the defending BCFC champion VI Raiders at 2PM and at 4PM the Kamloops Broncos and Okanagan Sun wrap the weekend up in at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops with a 4PM tilt.

The teams will play four consecutive weekends before taking a Labour Day break and returning to the field the September 8/9 weekend.

The BCFC play-offs open the weekend of Oct 20/21 with the top four teams advancing to semi-final play. The Cullen Cup Championship game will take place the following weekend. The Cullen Cup Champs then host the Ontario Football Conference Champions in the National Semi-Final November 3rd.

The Canadian Bowl will see the winner of this game travel to the Prairie Football Conference Champions on Nov 17.

BCFC President Tyler McLaren on this year’s schedule;

β€œNothing is ever perfect, we would of course like to see our teams all be able to play a weekly home and away alternating schedule, but sometimes getting access to the stadiums is tricky. I know this year the Sun are in a bit of a tough spot because the city is making some repairs and upgrades to the Apple Bowl just as the season is starting up so they will be on the road for a few weeks to start the season. This made for some challenges, but nothing we couldn’t overcome. Our teams and fans still get to enjoy our games in pretty cool junior environments and see every team once. Everyone across the BCFC is excited for the season to begin”
