The British Columbia Football Conference is pleased to announce the βPlayers of the Weekβ for Week Two of the 2011 Season.

For the second consecutive week the Vancouver Island Raiders machine was led by quarterback Jordan Yantz who was instrumental in putting up 72 points against the Westshore Rebels in Week 2. For his efforts for the second consecutive week he is the Offensive Player of the Week. The veteran would finish nine of 15 for 256 yards and threw four touchdown passes. He now has thrown seven on the year.
The Chilliwack Huskers and Kamloops Broncos played in a very tight game in week two and both defences came up big. One player stood out as the BCFC Defensive Player of the Week is Huskersβ defensive back Tanner Hamade. The Abbotsford native would make three tackles, have three assists and made his first interception that he returned for a 50 yard for a major.

On the Special Teams side of the ball there were a couple of outstanding performances. The player of the week however is Kamloops Bronco Derek Apps. The returner would tally five punt returns for 145 yards, including a 98 yard return for a touchdown. He would also return one kick off for 18 yards. His touchdown would help the Broncos to their first win of the year.
Week Three of the BCFC season has a full slate of games all on Saturday. In the two afternoon games the 2-0 Vancouver Island Raiders will play in their home opener as they host 1-1 Kamloops, while just down the road on the island the 1-1 Westshore Rebels host the 0-2 Huskers. The lone evening game sees the 2-0 Okanagan Sun play at the 0-2 Langley Rams in the second half of a home and home.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
