BCFC VidSwap.com Players of Cullen Cup: Yantz, Ash, Mueller (video hilites)

The British Columbia Football Conference is pleased to announce their β€œVidSwap.com Players of the Week” for the 2011 Cullen Cup game.


The Vancouver Island Raiders won their sixth straight BCFC crown shutting out the Langley Rams 44-0. The high powered Raiders offence was led by the BCFC Offensive Player of the Week quarterback Jordan Yantz. The veteran accounted for five touchdowns, finishing 14 of 22 for 216 yards and threw three majors. He would also rush five times for 36 yards and scored two touchdowns. It’s the fourth time this year Yantz has been named the Player of the Week.

Highlights:


The Raiders defence would pitch the ninth shutout in Cullen Cup history. A big reason for the Rams goose egg was the play of BCFC Defensive Player of the Week Teddy Ash. The defensive lineman would record four tackles, two assists and one and a half sacks. It’s the first Player of the Week honour for Ash.

14 of the Raiders 44 points during the BCFC championship were scored by the BCFC Special Teams Player of the Week; kicker Mark Mueller. The veteran would hit a pair of 28 yard field goals as well as a 24 yarder, plus was a perfect 5-5 in converts. As usual Mueller was busy kicking the ball off, pounding eight kicks that would gross 342 yards. He would also add six punts that travelled a gross of 197 yards. It’s the first Player of the Week honour for Mueller this season.

The Raiders will now host the Prairie Football Conference winners, the Saskatoon Hilltops in a rematch of the 2010 Canadian Bowl on Saturday in the Josten’s Cup National Semi-Final game.
