BCFC VidSwap.com Players of Semi-finals: Tomusiak, Nakagawa, Van Gylswyck (video hilites)

The British Columbia Football Conference is pleased to announce their “VidSwap.com Players of the Week” for the 2011 Semi-Final games.


The Vancouver Island Raiders are heading back to the BCFC Cullen Cup final after their semi-final victory over Westshore on Saturday afternoon. A number of Raiders had big offensive games including the BCFC Offensive Player of the Week Whitman Tomusiak. The second year receiver caught three balls for a game high 123 yards and had two touchdowns.

Highlights:


For the first time in recent memory a road team was victorious in a semi-final as the Langley Rams punched their ticket to the

BCFC championship for the second time in three years. On the defensive side of the ball the Rams were led by linebacker Arie Nakagawa who made 10 solo tackles, one assist and two special teams tackles on route to being named the BCFC Defensive Player of the Week. It’s the second time Nakagawa has been named the conference player of the week.

Highlights:


The BCFC Special Teams Player of the Week is Westshore Rebels kicker Quinn Van Gylswyck for the third time this season. He would connect on a 22 yard field goal and was perfect on two converts. Van Gylswyck would compile four kick-offs for 242 yards including a 65 yarder as well as two punts for 89 yards.

Highlights:

This weekend the BCFC champion will be crowned as the third seeded Langley Rams will try and pull off another playoff road win when they travel to Nanaimo to face the top seeded and reigning champion Vancouver Island Raiders.
