BCFC – Week 5 players of the week

The British Columbia Football Conference is pleased to announce the β€œPlayers of theWeek” for
Week Five of the 2010 Season.

For the second time this season, Vancouver Island Raiders quarterback Jordan Yantz has been
named the BCFC Offensive Player of the Week. The Regina native would guide the Raiders to
their fourth win of the season by completing an outstanding 13 of 16 for 269 yards and four
touchdowns. Yantz leads the league with 15 touchdown passes and 1,426 yards. His arm isn’t
the only thing that teams need to defend against, when called upon Yantz can use his feet to
make plays. This past week he ran three times for 39 yards to keep Raider drives alive. The
defending champs are now 4-1 on the season.
The defence of the Okanagan Sun this season has been stifling. They have given up the least amount of points (55), the least amount of touchdowns (6); have recorded the most sacks (15) and the most takeaways (24). But for the first time this season an individual has stood out.

The BCFC Defensive Player of the Week is Sun linebacker Tyler Plock. This past week Plock made three tackles, knocked down a pass, forced a fumble, recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown and capped off his night with a sack. His effort helped raise the Sun record to 4-1.

Not to outdone by Plock the BCFC Special Teams Player of the Week is Okanagan Sun kicker Steven Shott in a very close vote. The Vancouver native set a personal best on Saturday
night kicking a 51 yard field goal. He would also add six converts, one tackle and seven kick-offs which totalled 417 yards. Shott would pound four punts that grossed 154 yards and allowed just 17 returned yards.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
