BCFC – Week 6 players of week

The British Columbia Football Conference is pleased to announce the “Players of the Week” for Week Six of the 2010 Season.


There is no surprise that the BCFC Offensive Player of the Week is a member of the Victoria Rebels. In their third win of the year the Rebels recorded 70 points and 644 yards of total offensive. Their ground attack was led by Sam Adu. The Victoria native carried 15 times for 239 yards, setting a new club record, and four touchdowns tying a team record. Adu would also make three catches for 47 yards. After his 239 yards he now leads the league with 888 yards through six games.

The Okanagan Sun continue to be the toughest defence to score on this season, and haven’t allowed a point in the last two games. Saturday night they continued to be suffocating setting a new team record with eight sacks. They were led by the BCFC Defensive Player of the Week Steven Doege. The defensive lineman had three of the eight sacks, one solo tackle, one assist, one special teams tackle and one forced fumble. Doege is the second consecutive Sun player to win this award.

For the second consecutive week Okanagan Sun kicker Steven Shott is the BCFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Shott was 5-7 in field goals, hitting from 16, 24, 27, 30 and 45 yards out and was 8-8 in converts. He would also add five punts for 193 yards and tallied a single, while his six kick-offs compiled 376 yards. Shott would account for 24 of the Sun’s 53 points on Saturday night at the Apple Bowl.

The BCFC will take the Labour Day weekend off, before returning to action September 11 will a full slate of games in Week 7.
