BCFC winningest coach

Matt ā€œSnoopā€ Blokker became the All-Time Winningest Coach in BCFC history on Saturday night when his Vancouver Island Raiders defeated the Kamloops Broncos 37-27.

Coach Blokker recorded win #84, one better than the old record held by Nick Kawaza who coached with Surrey Rams and Tri City Bulldogs.

Blokker reaches the milestone in only 99 games, with an overall record of 84-13-1.Ā  It took Kawaza 128 games to set the record and retired with an overall record of 83-44-1.

ā€œIt just kind of makes me feel like Iā€™m really old to tell you the truth,ā€ said Blokker in a recent interview with Ryan Watters.Ā  ā€œIā€™m just really proud of the coaching staff Iā€™ve been with for so many years.Ā  Iā€™m just really proud to coach in the league for as long as I have and be part of this league for as long as I have.Ā  I think itā€™s a great league, its a great development for coaches and players, you know and in a way itā€™s just nice to be around for as long as I have.ā€

The Raiders (3-2) will have a bye this long weekend to prepare for a date with the Okanagan Sun (4-1) on Saturday September 7 at Caledonia Park.

The CJFL congratulates Blokker on this wonderful milestone.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
