Bears Miss Sooner Victory

If you missed the Brampton Bearsā€™ last home game of the season, you certainly missed an entertaining night. St. Marcellinus Secondary School was the place to be on Saturday, October 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]. The OFCā€™s well-respected defending champions travelled from Ottawa to face the Bears once again.

During their first game against Ottawa on August 14[SUP]th[/SUP], the Bears held onto a 24-24 tie and forced the Sooners into a 27-24 double overtime win. Coaches McEvoy and Houlder previously coached together at York University but were on opposite sides of the field.

The Sooners opened the score which was responded to by the Bears. As dĆ©jĆ  vu would have it, there was a 9-9 tie for the first quarter. Due to one momentum changing defensive error on the part of the Bears, the Sooners were in a position to seize the moment and win the game 22-15. The Bears have remained increasingly competitive as the weeks progress and will certainly be a force to be reckoned with once they find their legs — this was communicated to them by Coach McAvoy who asked for permission to address the team.

They will take on the London Beefeaters 8:00pm on Friday, October 8[SUP]th[/SUP] at TD Waterhouse Stadium in London.
