Big change (VIDEO)

Queensville running back newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2014 class.

Kyle Lasota will be planning a future move to the Nation’s Capital.

Recently, the 5’8, 180 pound running back from Queensville, Ontario signed with the Ottawa Gee-Gees for the 2014 OUA season.

“One reason I loved Ottawa so much was the location and the atmosphere of the city,” commented Lasota of the decision.  “When I had first shown interest in the University Of Ottawa, I had no idea that it was right downtown.”

“This is a big change for me, living in the small town of Queensville. I am definitely looking forward to the change of pace. Another reason why I enjoyed my visit to Ottawa so much is that the coaches and current players made me feel right at home and were very welcoming. They showed me all the great things about the university and the surrounding area. I am very excited to join the Gee-Gee’s family this fall!”

Lasota joins Gee-Gees after completing his high school career with Huron Heights Warriors of the York Region Athletic Association (YRAA).  This past season, he amassed 1037 yards on 88 carries and scored 11 touchdowns.  Moreover, Lasota racked up 241 receiving yards on six receptions and tallied three majors.

Not only has Lasota played for the Warriors, but he has also suited up for the Newmarket (York-Simcoe) Bucs of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
