Big playoff win for Peewee Lions


The peewee Lions started the playoffs with a big win over the Halton Cowboys with a final score of 86-6.

Lions Kaden Jespersen had the first touchdown within minutes of the opening kick-off, setting the tone for the game.
Later in the quarter Alex Salytchev ran for 30 yards after catching the punt return which set up a Danyel Sipes touchdown.

Brayden Hill, with no where to go, made a great throw to Sipes for his second touchdown. Hill the went to Matthew Takacs for the 2point convert.

The second quarter continued to be dominated by the Lions. Amber Baetsen picked up a fumble recovery and went in for the touchdown. Cody Jones had an interception giving the lions control of the ball again and Sipes took it in for his third touchdown.
The Lions defense was working together as Brayden Ralph and Amber Baetsen converged and sacked the cowboys quarterback.
The first half ended with another Jespersen touchdown.

The lions continued to pounce on the Cowboys when Cody Jones
carried the kick return for a touchdown to start of the second half.
The Lions passing game was on target with Takacs throwing the ball twenty-five yards to Brandon Metz giving the lions the first down. Takacs continued to be on his game with another throw to Metz for the touchdown.
Jamie Kalte got the ball back with an interception which lead to another Lions touchdown by Derek Cole.
Lions finished the game with three more touchdowns by Derek Cole and 2 by
Kaden Jespersen.

Lions continue to be undefeated and will play Ajax in the semi finals at Debt Freedom Field behind Jacob Hespeler at 7:00pm on Sunday.
