Bishop’s Alexander Fox talks about the East West Bowl

After a long off season, it is great to see the most talented Canadian football players meeting in London to play such high caliber ball. The returning players are here representing the schools from all across Canada in the 2013 CIS East West Bowl. CFC got to speak with receiver Alexander Fox from Bishopā€™s about his experiences this week.

CFC: How has this week been for you so far?
AF:
It has been great. Everyone is a high caliber player, with great coaches. Everyone plays hard and works to the full potential.

CFC: How was your performance at the combine?
AF: It was tough, much tougher than I thought. We all prepared hard in the offseason but there are some things you can control like the order you go in or wait times. We were all warmed up but had to wait our turn.

CFC: What have you learned this week?
AF:
I have learned a lot. I learned how to play with all different players from different teams. People with different backgrounds and experiences teach you to accommodate.

CFC: Do you have any personal goals for tomorrow?
AF:
I want to play my game. I want to play great, just do me

CFC: How does it feel to be recognized as one of the best receivers in the CIS?
AF:
Feels good. I know how well I can play but this gives the rest of Canada the chance to see how hard I work to be the best player I can be.

CFC: What does the future hold for you? CFL perhaps?
AF: The future is tomorrow, play the game, win the game with the East and keep working hard. I want to win games next season with Bishop and work hard to achieve my goals.

CFC: Do you know any players from the West team?
AF:
I know the competition, thatā€™s all I need to know.

CFC: Why did you decide to pick up football?
AF:
I was an aggressive kid who used to get in a lot of fights. My mom put me into football and I loved it. We get to hit each other and release stress and pressure.

CFC: How do you prepare for game day?
AF:
Practice, thatā€™s how I prepare. I want to be the best I can be.

CFC: What do you enjoy most about football?
AF: I love to shine. I love to score touchdowns, having all the eye on you is a great feeling.

CFC: Any predictions for tomorrow?
AF :
( Laughs) I donā€™t know if I should answer that one, the East will win thatā€™s all I need to say.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
