The RSEQ this weekend only had two games as Concordia and University De Montreal were on their bye week. The first game of the weekend saw Sherbrooke easily defeated McGill on Saturday by a score of 45-0. McGill is now 0-2 with their new coach duo of their offensive coordinator, Patrick Boies and defensive coordinator, Ronald Hilaire.The team also has not gotten their first win of the season. The second game on Sunday afternoon featured Laval Rouge et Or hosting the Bishop Gaiters. The game in the end had many offensive goals being broken by the amazing QB skills of freshman, Hugo Richard. The Rouge Et or hammered the Gaiters, 64-3.
The Bishop Gaiters Defensive player of the week is senior linebacker, Justin A Warren. Warren had a good game in the lost to Laval, he had one interception which was only resulted in the lost of two yards. Warren also added five tackles towards the lost.
The Laval Rouge et or, defensive player of the week is safety, defensive back, Shayne Gauthier. Gauthier had a great Sunday afternoon, he had 7.5 tackles, forced a fumble and but no least. Shayne also had one tackle which resulted in a loss of five years. Gaithier was named RSEQ defensive player of the week for his efforts in the win. The Laval defense leads the CIS in least amount yards given up against a team. These schools on offense average 236.0 yards per a game.
The Vert et Or defensive player is lineman, Maxime Dugas. Dugas had three tackles, he also had a sack of QB which resulted in a loss of 13 yards
The McGill defense player of the week is defensive lineman, Ousmane Guindo. Guindo had 4.5 tackles in the lost also had one sack for which resulted in the loss of one yard.
