Thunder Bay kicker signs with OUA team.
The University of Toronto Varsity Blues have bolstered their special teams with the addition of Ryan Grandell to their football program.
The 5ā10, 170 pound kicker from Thunder Bay, Ontario will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.
Ultimately, proximity and the coached played a hand in his commitment.
āSome of the factors that helped in the decision to commit to the University of Toronto were the friendly coaching staff,ā said Grandell of his choice.Ā āI was able to make a relationship with Coach [Ken] Mazurek easily and it made the decision easier.ā
āAlso being from Thunder Bay it will be very easy to come home for holidays. Ā The coaching staff at the University of Toronto is very friendly and I am super excited to play for them this fall. The direction the team is heading is very exciting as hopefully we can do well this year.ā
Grandell completed his high school career with St. Ignatius Falcons of the Superior Secondary School Athletic Association (SSSAA).
