Kadeem Thomas rushed for 110 yards and tallied three majors including 110 yard return off an interception to lead CFC # 42 Central Tech Blues to a 56-36 victory over Richview Saints in the Toronto District Secondary School Athletic Association (TDSSAA) championship final.
Samuel Francis ran into the end zone twice and rushed for 221 yards for the Blues.
At halftime, the Saints enjoyed a 29-22 lead due to the play of pivot Austin Rosbrook who amassed 200 passing yards and threw two touchdowns in the first two quarters.
With this victory, the Blues advance to the OFSAA Bowl Series where the team will meet St. Joan of Arc Knights, who are Georgian Bay Secondary School Association (GBSSA) representatives in the 32nd annual Metro Bowl on Friday November 29th, 2013. Kickoff is 2:30pm.
However, the season is not over for the Saints as they too have gained a berth into the OFSAA Bowl Series. Their opponents will be the West Ferris Trojans, who are the Northern Ontario Secondary School Association (NOSSA). Both squads will square off on Wednesday November 27th, 2013 at 10:00am.
