Time for change

CEGEP offensive lineman becomes fifth CFC TOP 100 recruit to join RSEQ team’s 2014 class.

“I am tired of seeing Laval winning every time. I want things to change. ”

Those are the sentiments of CFC TOP 100 offensive lineman Gregoire Bouchard.  Recently, the 6’2, 295 pound Chicoutimi, Quebec native committed to the Montreal Carabins for the 2014 RSEQ season.

Ultimately, Bouchard felts that the Carabins can offer him a real chance to develop as a player while pursuing academic pursuits.

“Montreal has a great football program and a professional coaching staff,” explained Bouchard of his decision.  “There are opportunities with the Carabins that I couldn’t find elsewhere in Quebec (4 veterans are leaving).

“Academically, it was the best option for me as well.”

The Quebec offensive lineman joins the Carabins after completing his CEGEP career with Division 1 team, Vanier Cheetahs.  In the 2012 season, Bouchard led the Cheetahs to a Bol D’Or championship and was recognized for his efforts that year as he was selected as a Division 1 All-Star.

Previous to the Cheetahs, he suited up for the Chicoutimi Mustangs.  In July, 2011, Bouchard represented his home province as a member of Team Quebec at the Football Canada Cup in Lethbridge, Alberta.  For his exceptional play, he was named a Tournament All-Star.
