“I chose to commit to Wilfrid Laurier because of the close community presence in Waterloo especially at Laurier that I had experienced while on my visits,” recalled Acheampong.  “I was taken in and treated like family by all the players, and the coaching staff which was very welcoming.”

“As I defensive lineman,  I feel like I can truly reach my full potential as a player at Wilfrid Laurier as I know my future teammates and coaches will push me to reach my goal. It was also great to know that the class sizes are smaller which would make it easier for me to focus and achieve my goals academically. I have the opportunity to get to know my professors personally rather than just simply being a number.”

Acheampong comes to the Golden Hawks after completing his career with Cardinal Ambrozic Riverhawks of the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA).
