Brantford recruit couldn’t ‘say no’ to McMaster (VIDEO)

Brantford offensive lineman joins OUA team’s 2015 class.

Kyle Maertens was looking for a place to thrive as a student-athlete.

Recently, he found that place as the 6ā€™4 Ā½, 296 pound offensive lineman (left tackle) signed with the McMaster Marauders.Ā  Maertens will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

ā€œI chose to play for the McMaster Marauders because it is an environment in which success is likely for me,ā€ elaborated the offensive lineman of his choice.Ā  ā€œThe coaching staff as well as the academic personnel made it feels like the school was a place that I was not able to say no to.ā€

ā€œMcMaster’s previous success in the past few seasons was also a reason I chose to play for them.ā€

Maertens has played for Assumption Lions of the Brant County Secondary School Athletic Association (BCSSAA), Brantford Bisons of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) and Salisbury Knights.
