Greg Knox to make move down the QEW

A reliable CFC source has confirmed that Greg Knox will be leaving McMaster to take a full-time coaching role with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.Ā  After seven years as the McMaster University defensive coordinator (one year as a full time paid coach) Greg Knox is moving down the QEW to take the same position with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.

Knox, 43, a Vanier Cup winner as a player and coach, and a 2-time Grey Cup winner as a player, brings pedigree and instant credibility to the Varsity Blues sideline.

McMaster Coaching Bio:

A teammate of Coach Ptaszek’s at Laurier, Knox helped lead the Golden Hawks to a Vanier Cup in 1991. A year later, as a member of the Calgary Stampeders, Knox won the Grey Cup. During his time with the Stampeders, Knox was a multi-year captain and CFL All-Star, and was nominated for the Tom Pate “Man of the Year” award in 1994. He retired for the CFL in 1998 with another Grey Cup victory. Knox holds a BA in history and political science from Laurier, as well as a BE from the University of Maine.
