The British Columbia Football Conference is pleased to announce the β€œPlayers of the Week” for Week Nine of the 2010 Season.

For the third time this season the BCFC Offensive Player of the Week is Vancouver Island Raiders quarterback Jordan Yantz. The Regina native led the Raiders to their eighth win of the season on Saturday afternoon, finishing 19 of 27 for 267 yards and threw four touchdown passes to add to his conference lead of 30. He would also rush for 11 yards on three carries and scored a touchdown. He would account for 30 of the Raiders 63 points.

Not to be outdone by Yantz, the BCFC Defensive Player of the Week is Vancouver Island Raiders defensive lineman Teddy Ash. He was a one man wrecking crew, collecting four solo tackles, two assists, one special teams tackle, one sack and one fumble recovery. Ash is one of the anchors on the second best defence in the conference, allowing just 121 points. It’s the first time a Raider has won this award this season.

For the fourth time this season and second time in consecutive weeks the BCFC Special Teams Player of the Week is Okanagan Sun kicker Steven Shott. The Vancouver native was 2-3 in field goals hitting from 40 and 51 yards out. His 51 yarder tied his career high. He had six kick offs for 342 yards and six punts for 224 yards. In addition Shott was 4-4 in converts.

Week 10 marks the final games of the regular season in the BCFC and is the second half of the home and home.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
