Britton signs CIS Letter of Intent; will join Rams for 2016

REGINA, Sask. – University of Regina Rams head coach Mike Gibson announced Tuesday that quarterback Seb Britton has signed a CIS Letter of Intent and will join the program for the 2016 campaign.
Britton attends Clear Water Academy in southwest Calgary, but was a three-year member of Rundle College’s football team and quarterbacked the Cobras to a Big Rock Football Conference championship this past season.
“Seb is a big kid with a strong arm and can make all the throws needed at the CIS level,” Gibson said. “He was also Rundle’s punter, so obviously he’s been a very good all-around athlete for that team. We’re thrilled to add a player of Seb’s calibre to the Rams.”
Britton, who stands 6-4 and checks in at just a shade under 200 lbs., was a conference all-star this past season for Rundle. He was instrumental in the Cobras’ upset win that gave them the Big Rock championship, scrambling for 52-yard and 22-yard touchdown runs to help Rundle upset a Foothills Composite team that would go on to win an Alberta Bowl Tier II provincial championship – this despite Rundle being classified as a Tier III team due to its school population.
Rundle went on to defeat Crescent Heights to advance to the regional semifinals in the Alberta Bowl Tier III bracket for the third time in Britton’s three years with the Cobras.
Britton becomes the fourth member of the team’s 2016 recruiting class.
