Building encouragement (VIDEO)

London kicker newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2014 class.

Jonah Zlatinszky will be commencing his CIS career in Ottawa.

Last week, the 6’0, 225 pound kicker from London, Ontario committed to the Carleton Ravens for the 2014 OUA season.

β€œI have chosen Carleton because after my visit, I really felt like it was a good fit for me academically and I was encouraged by their football program and what they are building towards,” explained Zlatinszky of his decision.Β  β€œThe team and coaching staff made me feel at home when I got there and that’s something that I was really looking for.”

β€œI just want to thank the coaches for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to this upcoming season.”

Zlatinszky joins the Ravens after completing his high school career with the St. Thomas Aquinas Flames of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA). In the 2013 season, he had four kickoffs that cleared the end zone.Β  Moreover, he kicked two 60 yard punts (which were career highs) this past season with the Flames.

As for the Ravens, they are thrilled to welcome Zlatinszky to the fold.

β€œJonah gives us depth and competition at the kicker position,” commented Ravens Head Coach Steve Sumarah. Β β€œHe has an exceptional leg both in field goals and punts.”

β€œOur staff is excited to work with him.”
