Dontae began playing the game when he was eight years old.  During his career, he has suited up the the Gordon Head Raiders and Belmont Bulldogs of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).

The Bulldogs lineman was won five Defensive MVP and three Offensive MVP Awards as well as a Defensive Lineman of the Year honour.

What drives Donate to success is the “for-the-team” attitude.  His most memorable gridiron moment last season was when his team played Nanaimo District Secondary School Islanders.

“It was the first time we actually were playing like a team,” recalls Donate.

He credits his mother as well as his coaches for always being there for him and helping him grow not only as a player, but as a person.

The Bulldogs lineman still has two years to decide or consider schools, but has an open mind for where he’d like to end up as he is only just starting the recruitment process.  While he’s had no engagement with schools, that’s not stopping him from working hard to get where he needs to in order to be recruited in the coming months.

“[I plan] to work out and do speed and agility with my team,” he says.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
