Burlington recruit looks forward to “competing and winning” with Guelph (VIDEO)

Burlington running back/linebacker joins OUA team’s 2016 class.

AJ Allen is passionate about winning and wants to continue that at the CIS level in the years to come.

The 6’1, 200 pound running back/linebacker from Burlington, Ontario has committed to the Guelph Gryphons in the hopes of achieving even greater heights.  Allen will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

“I chose Guelph because they have a great program for football,” commented Allen about his decision.  “That’s one because personally I love winning and competing with the best to improve my play.”

“I chose them because they have great student support so you can succeed on and off the field. That was a big one with my mother. Also, Coach [Adam] Grandy has been talking to me since grade 11; he’s a great person and he has shown loyalty to me by trying to get me to succeed on and off the field and I try and surround myself with people like that. That can positively affect my life and he is one of those people.”

Among the teams  the two-way standout has played for include Burlington Stampeders of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and MM Robinson Rams of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA). This past season, Allen scored 11 touchdowns.
