Matthew Mortimer never played football before high school. When the Class of 2020 centre graduated and found himself in unfamiliar territory at Meadowvale Secondary in Ontario, the football coach asked him to come out to the tryouts. “Once I made the team in grade 9 I fell in love with the game and it became my life,” he states. “I studied film every week and fell in love with the intensity and feeling of being on the field.”
